Land Rover Repair: 97 Range Rover Hse 4.6, range rover hse, turn on your radio

Question
I changed my battery and it effected my radio. It now displays ---- and i tried to enter the code but it does not allow it. It also disabled the one touch auto window, I have to hold down the window button for it to slide down as well as my sunroof. I also have a problem with the air conditioner, It only works when it wants to. By this I mean cold air is distributed on random times. There is a Book display on my screen with an exclamtion mark (!) mostly when it's hot outside.

Answer
First, reset the sunroof and the windows by holding each one all the way closed for 2 seconds at a time, and then open all the way to the bottom for 2 seconds at a time, close it again and hold until it says window set.  You must do this for each window, one at a time.

To set the sunroof: open it all the way on the tilt function; then close and open the complete assembly all the way to the back; close the complete assembly; open the tilt function.  This should set the sunroof.

Turn on your radio, press the band button until the word "code" appears, enter your radio code.  If this does not work leave the radio and ignition on for one hour and try again.  Do not touch any buttons during this hour.

The warning light you describe is related to the A/C problem.  You must take it to a repair facility with a code reader to have the fault code read and diagnosed.
