Land Rover Repair: 2001 Disco II error codes P1319 & P0301, piston aircraft engines, competent work

Question
Thank you for your very quick response.

I am not near a Land Rover shop (rural US) and am reasonably mechanicaly and electrically competent (work on piston aircraft engines which are incredibly simple in comparison) before making a trip to the city for an intermittent problem is there an order of actions I can take? Ie, 1) drain the tank, 2) stake the valves, 3) test the injectors etc...

Thanks once again.

Dear Sir.

I was recently driving my Disco and I started to feel a misfire, with the car slightly lurching, checked the OBD codes and found it informing of a misfire on #1, P0301 and a mifire becauee of low fuel, P1319.  The tank was about 1/8'th full but before the yellow low fuel level warning came on. I filled it up and the problem subsided but again when the tank is low, but not very, it again starts to misire. Could I have water or something else in my tank? Could it be a fuel pump problem? Any ideas much appreciated.

Thank you.

Answer -
You could have water in your tank, you could have a pump problem, or you could have a misfire for some other reason.  I suggest you find a dealer or LR specialist with the proper equipment to check this out.

The T4/RDS test system, found at all dealers and a few independent shops, is the best tool to sort this out.

Answer
Actions you could take - some of which are just guessed - without any test equipment:

1 - Drain the fuel tank, make sure there's no water.  Clean fuel lines and fuel rail.

2 - Replace fuel pump assembly

3 - Replace spark plugs, wires to the affected cylinders, and possibly the coil pack for those cylinders
