Land Rover Repair: no spark, crank sensor, discovery 2

Question
I just got a new starter on my 2000 landrover discovery 2 series....it worked then 2 days later won't start anymore.  the start cranks but there is no spark...I called a company that I normally order my parts from and they told me that I probably need to replace the coil pack which is 249.95.  Now I went to another website and found an ignition coil for only 85.98 for my car make and model.  Is there a diffrence between the two...which one should I use for my car?

Answer
If there is no spark, it is more likely to be the crank sensor.  Unless all the coils went bad at the same time (very unlikely), you would still get spark from the cylinders for which the coils were good.  The crank sensor, however, would cut off spark from all cylinders.
