Land Rover Repair: 1995 Range Rover 4.0, muffler shop, hvac system

Question
I just bought a used Range Rover with 161,000 miles on it.  After driving for a few miles, you start to smell a distinct exhaust odor (carbon monoxide) inside of the vehicle.  Where should I start?  Is this a common problem with Range Rovers?  Thanks.

Answer
This is a common problem on most older vehicles, exhaust leaks in the engine area can get in to the HVAC system and be drawn into the vehicle, drive with the windows down to any local muffler shop and have them inspect/repair it immediately.

This should not be an expensive fix.
