Land Rover Repair: 94 discovery a/c fan switch stuck, fan switch, low speed

Question
The fan switch for my ac is stuck between the 3 and 4 and will not budge, so it is basically stuck. The fan does not always stay on, but just cuts on and off as it pleases. It either blows full speed, a very low speed where the air doesn't even cool the interior of the vehicle, or not at all (most of the time). I've replaced the entire switch which houses the different blowing methods as well as the ac once because of this problem. Any ideas on a fix that won't involve spending another $75+ on this part? Any advice is helpful

Answer
I don't know what anyone could say except change the switch.  It sounds like an obvious failure.  You could take it out and take it apart but I suspect you'd just spend several hours for nothing.

Th switch may be bad from age, or the blower may have melted it because it's bad and drawing too much current.  Check that before you fit a new switch.
