Land Rover Repair: Cyl 3 misfire, land rover discovery, 2003 land rover discovery

2003 Land Rover Discovery II, 65k miles

Every once in awhile my SEL will come on, at startup, runs "rough" for a few minutes and then all is well.  Generally light goes away by itself after a certain number of starts.

Most often happens when its parked outside in the rain, but has happened other times when in the garage.  Often happens on big temperature swings or when really humid.

Usually throws the 0303 alone, sometimes an 0300 is there as well.  Again, lasts a few minutes at idle until warm-up, and then smooth sailing.  It is annoying however.

I have new plugs and wires on my workbench, heard the wires are a real pain at the coil packs (large hands).  Perhaps I just pull the #3 plug/wire and see what it looks like.

You have to pull the plenum to change the wires.  Most of the time in our shop we change the coil packs too, because we find that operation with faulty wires often damages them

I suggest you attend to this promptly as it will only cause more trouble
