Land Rover Repair: 2003 landrover brake light issue, check fuse, brake light switch

Question
I have a 03 discovery II and my left great brake light goes out when I hit the brakes,,, but only when the headlights are turned on .  If I do not turn on my head lights the brake lights work fine, but if I use my park or head lights only the right brake light work.  I have replaced the bulb and the brake light switch under the brake but the problem still exist.  Any help would be greatly appreciated ....thanks in advance ...

Answer
Hi Eric,

start looking at the wiring harness and bulbholder for corrosion and an electrical short.  Also check sidemarker light and bulbholder - they have known to corrode and can generate a short that will affect brake lights.

Check fuse 25 in passenger footwell.  Send me an email and I'll reply with the electrical diagrams.  Perhaps you can trace back from LH Brake lamp and find the fault.
