Land Rover Repair: Crank Shaft Sensor, crank shaft, landrover discovery

Question
I have a 2001 Landrover Discovery which has just had the crank shift sensor replaced because the vehicle was losing power and stalling while driving and would not start again right away. After a couple of hours it would restart only to lose power again.  Now that the repairs have been completed it is not stalling and it starting fine but the vehicle is now not idling properly and it is missing. Is there a chance that the mechanic overlooked something when installing the part?  Thanks, Paul

Answer
Yes, your mechanic changed the wrong part.  A crank sensor can prevent your truck from running at all, but it will not cause loss of power and stalling.  Knowing that, I suspect your mechanic may not be qualified to work on these cars and you might do well to seek a genuine trained Land Rover specialist
