Land Rover Repair: 03 Discovery catalytic converter rattles, exhaust shop, catalytic converter

The catalytic converter on our 03 Discovery rattles on the frame when the car is in drive. Do you know if there is an easy fix for this or will we need to take it in and have them heat the muffler pipe and bend it over. They said this was a common problem. Thanks

Hi Kane,

rattling Cat?  Not a common problem as far as I know - unless the plates are damaged and have come loose.  This or the supports on the exhaust have cracked.  

Are you sure its the cats? The rubber hangers do crack and break off which can cause a loose exhaust pipe.

You could try your luck with a local exhaust shop to see if its a simple fix.
