Land Rover Repair: transfer case leak, transfer case, difficulty level

Question
I have a 98 Disco (82K Miles) with a transfer case leak.  Is this something I can do by myself or should the dealer tackle this.  If I can do it how long should it take and what is the difficulty level?  If the dealer does it how long will they need the car (typically) and am I going to have to take out a loan!!

Answer
Most leaks require removal and disassembly of the transfer case.  It's hard to get the case out without a workshop lift and a transmission jack.  Are you skilled and up for that?  If so, you can download instructions from Land Rover's service site, www.landrovertechinfo.com

It's a 7-10 hour job for an experienced tech, depending upon what issues they find
