Land Rover Repair: 2002 Freelander Transmission, diagnostic computer, fluid temperature

Question
Hello,  10 months ago we had to replace the transmssion on the car.  Yesterday, it started slipping and making strange noises.  Could it be the transmission or could it be a sensor or dirty transmission filter/missing fluid?
Thank you.

Answer
Hey Maricarmen
I assume your vehicle is equipped with an automatic transmission.I would  check the fluid level first, but on Freelander transmissions the level can only be checked by the dealer as you need to plug in the diagnostic computer to ensure the fluid temperature is between 35 and 45 celcius. If in fact your transmission as failed.I strongly urge you to sell the vehicle as Freelanders are very unreliable.Every Freelander will have engine or transmission failures which are expensive to repair.
