Land Rover Repair: Fault code, oxygen sensor, antilock brakes

Question
My son's check engine light is on.We are getting a fault code reading P1317 when Auto Zone checks the code.  Their system says its a misfire but when we look up the code on the internet it comes back
ABS Rough Road Line Low Fault.

Another code we get is P0130  Oxygen Sensor Cycle Fault AU.  This seems to be a reoccuring problem we are having with his car.  We replaced the sensor last year.

When we got the P1317 code we replaced the spark plugs and wires (back when Auto Zone defined it as a misfire) and had the codes cleared.  Came right back on showing the P1317 code.

What does this ABS Rough Road Line Low Fault mean and how do we go about resolving this?  And will we need to replace the OS too???

Our son is in college and his inspection is up this month so we are desperatelly trying to resolve this issue once and for all without spending an arm and a leg or replacing unneccessary things!!

Help!!!!

Answer
The rough road signal comes from the ABS system, and it points to a problem in the antilock brakes.  You need a shop with the specialized LR test system to diagnose that.

If the o2 sensor fault is not addressed by a sensor, there's more going on there too.

I strongly suggest you seek a competent LR specialist as you're just guessing otherwise, and that's not working from what you say.  Especially in the case of the rough road signal fault - there is no "standard answer."

Often these fault codes simply suggest a series of diagnostic tests.  The public perception that fault code = specifi part replacement is wrong in most instances.
