Question
I HAVE A JIN CHENG 50Q-8 SOME GUYS SAY THAT IT IS SAME AS HONDA Z50. I CAN NOT ACCELERATE. IT WILL IDLE OK BUT WHEN I ACCELERATE IT DIES. I HAVE CLEAN THE CARB TWICE.COMPRESSION IS ABOUT 140PSI.I CHANGED THE PLUG. HAD THE COIL CHECKED , IT IS GOOD. WELL BEINF DESPERATE I HOOKED UP A CAR COIL AND BEHOLD IT STARTED UP, ACCELERATED . BUT I AM AFRAID THAT SOMETHING MAY GO WRONG IF I LEAVE IT IN. WHAT IS YOUR INPUT TO THIS?

Answer
Hi B.C.Wallace,

I suspect the carburetor air-fuel mixtures needs tuned to lean out the mid to upper ranges.

The automotive ignition coil likely has more output than the mini's coil. I would need to know the turns ratios of both coil's windings.

Another consideration is the mini a 6 or 12 volt system? The automotive coil is a 12VDC system.

Run the auto coil and read the spark plug often. Most two-stroke cycle engines run best just before the engine seizes.

Learn about reading spark plugs at "www.ngk.com" You can compare your plug to those imaged on the "Plug 4-1-1" page, under "Problem Plugs."
