Land Rover Repair: Landrover freelander 2002 does not start, landrover freelander, electronic problem

Question
Hi,
I have a landrover freelander 2002 and it does not start, even with the key. There is a new battery on my vehicule. This week it is cold -30 and it does not start. It looks like an electronic problem because there is no respond at all, not with the key, not with the distance starter. Thanks Gilbert

Answer
Are you sure the battery voltage is up as it should be?  That's the first thing I'd check.  If the lights are bright and it just does nothing when the key is turned there may be a problem with the security system

Sometimes this issue is caused by remote start systems.  As a rule, I advise against installing them in these vehicles.  Anyway, if you have a security issue you're going to need a dealer or specialist with the T4 or Autologic system to talk to the alarm computer.
