Answer
Hi Nicole,

overheating can be caused by a number of things; radiator breakdown, thermostat failure, air blockage, hose leaks, headgasket leak, to name the most common causes.

What you can do in an attempt to save money is have a local radiator shop perform some tests on your Disco.  Most are capable of testing out your coolant system and performing the repairs.  They will pressure test your system and determine if there are any leaks.

If the fault lies with the temperature sensor you may have to rely upon the expertise of the LR dealer (or an independent mechanic).

If you need to find an independent LR mechanic near you, please send me an email and I'll do my best to find one for you.  Otherwise, you have to rely upon your dealership.

Best of luck,
