Answer
Hi Marc,

fuel pump relay is behind right hand footwell trim panel.  Could be the pump itself.  You would have to remove the pump to determine if power is reaching the pump.  Otherwise, you may not see power reaching the failed pump.  Other owners have also reported this ...

"If you are looking for juice with the pump connected, you might find no power as the pump will pose such a load that it drags the voltage to near zero, but doesn't draw enough current to blow the fuse.

I spent months chasing down an intermittent no-start on my wife's Rangie. Confused the Hell out of me until I discovered the pump was drawing about 8-10 amps versus around four when working correctly.

Disconnect the pump and look for power. If you have power until you hook the pump back up, you probably have a knackered pump. "

"I had the same problem. If it's not the multifunction relay, then replace the fuel pump. I replaced the fuel pump and it worked fine. Simple install."

Also, determine if the power connector is corroded at the pump.

Finally, perform continuity check on wires to pump - it has been known that a wire can short out next to the exhaust (reported by one owner).

Best of luck,

NB:  if you'd like a techsheet photo of the relay location, send me an email and I'll respond with the photo.
