Land Rover Repair: P0709 Transmission Range Sensor Circuit Intermittent problem, bmw 325i, bmw owners

how do i locate the  Transmission Range Sensor in BMW 325i inorder for me to service the sensor,i once have similar problem with my MB. how do i handle the  Transmission Range Sensor Circuit Intermittent problem,the car(BMW 325i) starts fine but faulty gearbox indicator light comes up on the gear range indicator(PRNDL),whenever the gear symbol shows up,vehicle would be dragging on the floor and would not accelerate smoothly until you push the ignition again.help
