Land Rover Repair: disco II 2001 SRS turn on, obd ii scanner, land rover specialist

Question
Hi, the SRS light is on, i don't know what that means, if just want to know if it is something that is easy to fix or that i have to take it  to the LR shop. Thank you

Answer
SRS stands for Supplemental Restraint System.  It's your airbags, essentially.  The light is on because there's a problem with that system.  If you don't care about it (some folks don't care about airbag safety systems) you can probably ignore it.  If, on the other hand, you want to have an assurance the airbags would deploy in a crash, you will need to have the system checked by a Land Rover specialist with the T4 or Autologic tool that's needed to access that computer.

A local garage or parts store with a generic OBD II scanner will not be able to access the airbag computer.
