Land Rover Repair: Head gaskets, head gaskets, frequent need

Question
I recently bought a 95 discovery with 107k and while I was shopping for one it seemed that most people were bragging about replacing the head gaskets around 120k. They make it sound like it is a common thing that needs done on these. My engine is dry and no leaks so I don't see the need, what would you do?

Answer
It is common to do head gaskets in response to leakage.  But if a truck does not have leaky gaskets, it's not any kind of minus to say the gaskets are original.

Head gaskets don't need to be changed until they leak enough to trouble you with dripping or frequent need to top coolant.
