Land Rover Repair: 2003 Disco 2 Piston #2 Misifre, spark plug wires, factory originals

Question
I was driving the other day and the Service Engine Light came on and the
engine was hesitating and then cleared up and ran on and off roughly.  The
light would flash on hard acceleration and then just stay lit at normal driving.
I took it to a LR Mechanic and he said that the plugs I put in it were burning
to hot and causing the misfire.  Needless to say I changed the plugs to factory
originals, reset the code and all was well.  I went to work the next day and
when I began to accelerate on to the freeway, the light came on flashing and
the engine sputtered again and was hesitating.  I let off the gas and its ok.
What could be causing this misfire now that the plugs are changed and why
only in cylinder #2?

Answer
Hi Eric,

could it be related to the injector for cylinder 2...OR... I've seen one wire short out in an entire set.  I bought a new set of spark plug wires only to have one wire with a short.  IF you have a spare wire, swap it in and see if the misfire goes away.

Best of luck,
