Land Rover Repair: Suspension 96 Land Rover, land rover discovery, independent shop

Question
Hello...I have a 1996 Land Rover Discovery and have noticed the front right sits a few inches lower than the rest of the vehicle...the truck is almost leaning to the front right.  My first inclination is the suspension.  What needs replaced/repaired...any ideas?  Thanks

Answer
Hi Jonathan,

sounds like suspension - could be shock or a coil spring.  If this is original equipment, it's about time for the shocks and springs to be changed - all around the vehcile.

Remember, a good suspension provides a better ride AND stopping ability.

I had mine changed 2 years ago.  If you are a DIY'er, you can save a lot and the work is not that complicated.

Have a local shop perform some simple tests to determine the state of your suspension. Get estimates and then determine if you want to do the work yourself or have an independent shop do the work.

Best of luck,

NB:  It cost me $350 to replace the shocks and coils on my '95 Disco.
