Land Rover Repair: discovery 96 - injector misfire, engine management ecu, electronic control unit

Question
I need some help and advice on what to do with my Disco 96.

Suddenly my engine starts to misfire in one of the cylinder.
I replace the injector with a new one but still the same problem.
I measure the voltage at the end of the wires and I found about 10 V everywhere.
Then I used a noid light flashes for controlling the receiving of electrical pulse on each injector.  Only one (that specific one which misfires) did not pass the test – pulsing light did not show up.
I double check and measure the wires and everything shows OK.
So at this point I’m assuming that one of my injector it is actually not receiving electrical pulses power from the engine control unit ECU. What do you think? It’s possible only for one of the injectors?
Moving further, I found also, that my Electronic Control Unit - ERR6759 is showing really bad. It was full of rust and moisture inside. Considering how is looking, I'm even more surprise that the others 7 injectors are still working.

I made my homework and I found some second hand control units for about 125 USD – 150 USD matching the same year and code no. with my.
Can you advise me if this model is REQUIREING A DEALER ACTIVATION / RESET AFTER INSTALATION for the above mentioned ECU?

Any suggestion where should I look further?

Answer
Hi Alex,

sounds like your first problem was caused by the shorted engine management ecu.  You should be able to just 'plug and play' these.  The expression is:

14CU is plug and play;
14CUX is plug and play;
GEMS is plug and pray! Sometimes it works, sometimes not.

In your case, it should work.
Best of luck,
