Land Rover Repair: handbrake on discovery, brake drum, td5

can you help me by telling me how to adjust the handbrake on a td5 the hand brake comes all the way up . thanks

Yes.  On the park brake drum (on the rear of the transfer case) you will see a square headed adjuster.  Turn that carefully till it grabs them back it off a bit.  That must be done with the vehicle in neutral, wheels hanging, so you can feel the brake.

There is also an adjustment to take up the slack in the cable but you start at the drum
