Land Rover Repair: discovery maintenance, discovery series ii, spark plug wires

Question
I changed the spark plugs on my 99 discovery series II and now it won't start.  the hazard lights come on even though the button is not depressed, the engine turns but it won't start.  I put the old spark plugs in and it does the same thing.  Is there something I need to reset?

Answer
Hola Jesus,

how did you change your spark plugs? Did you replace the spark plug wires too?  If you are using the old wires, it's possible that the connectors could have become detached within the spark plug wire boots.

Make sure ALL the connections are seated tightly: spark plugs and ignition coil connections.

You'll have to remove each wire and check to see if arc'ing has taken place. It leaves a black deposit within the boot and maybe on the spark plug tip too (where the boot sits).
