Land Rover Repair: changing spark plug wires on Disco series 2, spark plug wires, air plenum

Question
I am changing plug wires on 99 series 2, do you have to take the air plenum off to do this? Can you use universal MSD wires on this system?

In response to your first question - you must remove the intake to access the plug wires.  It's a 3+ hour job.

In response to the question about generic wires . . . if you're spending half a day to change them, why take a chance on something other than genuine LR wires?

That's my choice, anyway.
