Land Rover Repair: 2002 Discovery, starter fluid, repair person

Question
When I start my Disco sometimes it won't crank until my husband sprays starter fluid on the carburetor valve then it starts perfectly. Battery good and starter is good. Took it for diagnostic but no check lights are on they thought possibly it might need timing adjustment. Help please.

Answer
I'm not sure where you are in the world, and your Discovery may be different from mine.  Here in the USA Discoveries do not have carburetors, and they have computer controlled timing.

So in the USA your comments would not be right but they do sell different configurations in other countries and I certainly am not familiar with them all.

If you are in the USA, I suggest you find a qualified Land Rover repair person.
