Land Rover Repair: 99 4.6 HSE, suspension problems, air suspension

Question
My 99 RR HSE came up with a EAS fault while my wife was driving today and it won't clear itself.  all the EAS lamps on the selector switch illuminate and it will not raise, lower or level.  Is there anything I can check or do to determine what the problem might be until I can get it in to the shop?

Answer
Wayne, I'm afraid there is nothing you can do to diagnose that system yourself.  You need a workshop with the special Land Rover test tools - Autologic or T4.

What you CAN do at home or in a general purpose repair shop is convert the truck to coil springs.  As your truck ages all the air suspension components are going to wear out and you are going to face this scenario again and again.

You can eliminate the air suspension problems by changing to coil springs.  Kits for your truck are under $900; less than the cost of replacement air bags.  It takes less than a day to fit a kit.

Look at www.atlanticbritish.com or www.roversnorth.com to read about the kits.  Look on www.rangerovers.net for Land Rover repair shops near you.
