Land Rover Repair: Discovery Blinker Problem, land rover dealer, lamp sockets

Question
I have a '96 Discovery and recently the blinkers have started acting strange.  Some days they'll work, some days they wont.  Some days the right one works but not the left and vice versa.  Sometimes they will work in the morning but not in the afternoon or vice versa.  The lights are coming on, but they just don't blink.  Please help.  I don't know if this is related, but I went through a stage where the landy wouldn't start occasionally.  I would turn the key and get nothing.  I had it towed several times and even spoke to the nearest Land Rover Dealer and nobody could ever figure it out.  It's been over a year now and it starts every time but it seems like when the ignition problem cured itself ?! the blinker problem started.  Thanks!

Answer
There are not too many possibilities for this problem. . . a new flasher unit . . . repairing corroded wiring at the lamp sockets, especially in back . . . replacing failed bulbs . . .sometimes the turn signal switches fail.

I doubt if this is any kind of systemic problem and I doubt if it has anything to do with the motor
