Land Rover Repair: 01 disco, gasket leaks, coolant life

Question
I don't mean to sound ingrateful, but I have worked on gm vehicles with the intake gasket leaks, I was under the impression that the dexcol had something to do with all the intake leaks, is there something else I could use?
Thanks

-----Question-----
It has 62000 miles, need to change all fluids.  What coolant should I use, I am thinking of using GO-5, is this the right coolant?
-----Answer-----
Your 2001 Discovery should use Dex-Cool or an equivalent coolant.  GO-5 is not Dex-Cool.

Answer
The Dex-Cool problems happen when cooling systems are run low, or when the stuff is left in the vehicle a long time.  Land Rover specifies a replacement interval of 2 years/30,000 miles for coolant.  That's a much more realistic assessment of coolant life than GM's.

In that time frame, provided you maintain proper level, you should not have problems.

You are more likely to introduce problems changing coolant formulations mid-stream.  With that in mind, and my own long experience using Dex-Cool without trouble in Land Rovers (provided we keep level up and change on time) I recommend you stick with the factory stuff
