Land Rover Repair: discovery 2001, bloody knuckles, coil pack

Question
How do you replace the spark plugs cable in this engine.  I cannot get to the end
of the cables!

Time, patience, and bloody knuckles.  The official LR procedure is to remove the intake manifold, but it can be done without that.  Do one wire at a time, and go slowly.  Getting the old wires off of the coil pack is harder than getting the new ones on.  Something to pry them off gently with might help.
