Land Rover Repair: Landrover Freelander 1998 2.0 diesel, landrover freelander, dash lights

Hi,Just bought the above freelander privately.Drove it home 70 miles no problem,great.Next day engine just cut out suddenly when driving along.Just cuts out with no warning for a few seconds & when I take my foot off throttle it carries on.No dash lights,nothing.It can go on again for miles & start cutting out again.Any ideas??Of course the previous owner swears he has never had a problem & wont help me.Thanks.Louise

If it does this consistently I'd suggest you take it you your dealer (or a shop with a Autologic or T4) and have them drive it while watching the live data till it quits.  They should be able to see what went away.

If the problem is too intermittent for that to work you are going to have to look for loose connections and (if you find nothing) wait till it gets worse to diagnose it.
