mike, my question is when i bought this bike when slowing down or down shifting and just barley rolling the throttle the bike would hick-up like through the carb. tyler harley-davidson said it was a manifold leak so they replaced it. DID-NOT HELP. so i have just lived with it. i installed the stage one system, and i still have this hick-up problem, my bike run's just fine at high speeds and also idle's just fine no problem's there. it is just this hick-up problem when gearing down or sitting still and when you just give it a little gas it will hick-up. can you please help... thank's for your time and advice. george..

Is your bike stock or what changes have you made besides the stage one kit?
Mike    sorry for the non-info. yes this bike is stock, the only modifications i have made is the stage 1 kit for the carb. and i put screamin' eagle pipes on the bike i might also mention that i bought this bike new and it has only 3800 miles on it it is still under factory warranty, and this problem has been with this bike since day one.even before i put the stage one kit on it. i was hoping that this would solve my hick-up problem by putting the stage one kit on it  but it did not. it has had  this problem even with the stock carb, and stock pipes hot or cold,it still has this hick-up problem since day one.thanks mike have a great day and any help i would surely appreciate. george..

Answer
Your hickup can be caused from several things.
One is a leaking intake valve
two is a lean condition. you never said you had the bike rejetted after making the changes. Your bike came from the factory a little lean to pass the EPA. Adding the stage one and the mufflers made it even leaner.
The solve this problem you should add a Dynajet kit. This will richen up the air/fuel mixture and give you more throttle responce and it might solve the hickup problem.
Good luck and happy riding
Mike
