Land Rover Repair: Discover II Warning Lights - 3 amigos, obdii code reader, wheel sensors

Question
I have 3 warning lights staying on after start.  ABS,Hill descent control (HDC) 'failure'. and Traction Control (TC).  These lights stayed illuminated after a recent problem with the engine overheating.  The Rover seems to be running perfectly.  Any ideas?...Brent

Answer
Hi Brent,

this is a known problem (to owners, LR may not admit it) for series II Disco's.  The problem could be within the ABS modulator, electrical wiring, the wheel sensors, ?

Your engine could be running perfectly but the 3 amigos* appear and seem to do nothing.  It could mean that a fault was detected, maybe corrected but comes back again.  A simple OBDII code reader could reveal a fault code (depending on the model of OBDII reader).  The dealer testbook would be able to reveal the fault quickly and hopefully the LR technician can locate the actual component that is failing.

My advice is to have the LR dealership investigate the error and give you an estimate of what is wrong, the repair and the final cost to repair.  IF LR does this, make sure they will reimburse the cost IF the problem returns shortly after the repairs.

Best of luck,
