Land Rover Repair: 1998 Range 4.6 HSE - BECM, rovacom, door locks

Question
Hello -

I had to replace my BECM due to water damage.  My old remotes did not work with the new BECM but since I had a regular key I simply used that for 1-2weeks until some how the car went into super lock mode.  My mechanic thought it was the door lock and ordered a new door lock but that didn't solve the problem.  The BECM is in "Super Lock" mode and the engine and all doors are disabled.  We ordered new remotes and the new BECM is not recognizing them and we can not unlock the BECM?

Do you have any suggestions?

Answer
The BECM, Door locks, and Key Remotes are all security coded to work together, if you change one, you have to change the rest.  When the BECM is setup it is "locked" to those codes.  It is possible to unlock the BECM with the right hardware and software.  The only shop I know of that can do it is in Australia (I'm sure there are others).

I have never done this myself so I cannot give specifics, you need someone with a Rovacom/Autologic/T4 to properly set up the BECM.  You can either send yours off to be unlocked or you're stuck purchasing another new one.
