Land Rover Repair: Auto transmission fault??, discovery series, luck john

Hi,My Discovery series 2 has started to mess around.Iparked on a hill with the engine running,put it in park with handbrake on,when i got back in and selected drive it would not pull away.It wanted to go but something seemed to be locked or jammed?Suspension moved but wheels would not turn.I spent about a minute selecting various gears but to no avail.Eventually selected drive ok and drove perfectly.Any ideas on what if anything is wrong?Only had vehicle a few weeks,should i be worried or return it??

I think you should "be worried or return it"

If the transmission fails, your cost to replace it with a genuine remanufactured unit would be around $5,000 here in the USA.

I don't want to suggest your transmission is bad - I have no way to know.  I do know the situation you describe is abnormal, and in a car you just bought it calls for immediate attention before the warranty period ends.
