Land Rover Repair: 2001 Land Rover Discovery SE7, land rover discovery, stethoscope

Underneath the drivers side door there is what seems to be a compressor that recently (tonight) continuously runs even after the ignition is switched off. I had to disconnect the battery to get it to quit. Do you know what this is? I do not have a service manual.

Hi Don,

I wonder if it's the ACE valve block that is making this noise?  Next time, get down on all fours and try to locate the noise.  Use something to detect the vibration (pencil, doctor's stethoscope is best).  Unless the noise is within the driver's door...then its either the PW motor or speaker.

I suspect it's the ACE valve block.
