Land Rover Repair: 99 Disco II Alternator, fan belt, feedback page

Hello!
I would like instructions on installing an alternator on a 99 Disco series II. The repair shop is asking $760 for this repair. So I decided that I would purchase one and try and install it myself.  

Answer
The alternator is in plain sight, right on top of the engine.  Unhook the battery before you begin, and make sure you pay attention to how the fan belt is routed before you take it off.
