Land Rover Repair: Discovery I flushing the radiator, mike cotter, model discovery

Question
Thanks for the response. Is the drain plug you refer to on the bottom of the radiator itself and is the panel that has to be removed the sheet metal panel underneath the radiator. Also, this model Discovery has the plastic coolant reservoir. When you say blow into the filler is it the reservoir filler cap?

Thanks.

Hi.
I saw instructions for flushing the coolant for a Discovery II, but it referenced two square drain plugs on the engine block and I do not see them on my Discovery I. Can you provide instructions for completely draining all coolant from the radiator, engine, heater core, etc.
Thanks.

Answer -
There is one plug for drain and one for bleeding. Take off the filler cap. So you have to dismount the under engine panel, and srew out the drain plug (mounted onto the metal water tube).
Then if you blow into the filler you can push out the 90% of the coolant.

Answer
So whn you dismount the drain plug, not all coolant can drained. But if you blow somehow into the reservoir for a half or one minute long, the air will push out the remained water.

Only little pressure! Not with compressor! You can blow into it for example with mouth across some clean material.
