Land Rover Repair: Compressor Clutch P38 100k miles., compressor clutch, testbook

Hi, I have a problem on my air conditioning, diagnosed with Testbook as the compressor clutch. I understand it is possible to change it or remove a shim to take into account the increase in gap which occurs with use, without de-gassing the system. I would be grateful if you could detail the procedure for me.

Answer
You simple undo the nut in the center of the ac clutch and pull the hub off.  Reach in and remove one of the spacing washers.  Reassemble.

If there are no washers you have to grind about 10 thousandths off the end of the hub to get the clearance reduced.
