Tips on Buying Cars: transaction papers

Question
I recently traded in my 1996 car at the dealer for a 2014 car. I still have all the transaction papers and bill of sale from the 1996 car and was going to throw them out. Or is there some reason I should save those?  Thanks

Answer
Hi,
I recommend you keep the paper work at least 1 year. I have seen where months later, you will get notices from the city/state for tickets etc, sometimes the entire transaction is not completed correctly. It is just to make sure you are not bothered for anything you should not be responsible for. Hope this helps.
