Land Rover Repair: Door locks, remote control switch, luck john

I have a '97 RR 4.0 SE. The remote control hand switch will lock the doors, but will not open them. I've changed the battery. Even the indicator red light on the remote control switch comes on when I depress the open/lock buttons.

Answer
If the red light comes on in the remote when you press either button, but only the lock function works, you probably need a new pushbutton key.

That would be the first step at any dealership.  You'll need a driver license and registration to order from your dealer.
