I have purchased a replacement rear window mechanism/regulator for my 2003 Freelander 5-door TD4, as I discovered that a cable had snapped on the original. Can you advise on how to proceed?

Installation is a bit complex but you can do it with ordinary hand tools.  The best step by step instructions for work like this are on Land Rover's official servic ewebsite, which is www.landrovertechinfo.com  From that site you can access any piece of servic einfo available to dealership technicians.  There is a small daily access charge but there is no limit to the content you can download in that time frame.
