Land Rover Repair: 99 ECU programming / 2000 rough idling, sensor tps, testbook

Question
hello,
I have a 1999 discovery II that has been out of operation since june.I've had the ECU replaced and it starts and stalls. The repair shop says it has to be programmed. How difficult is that?
Also,I have a 2000 disco. II with 63k on it and it seems to accelerate rough.what could cause this?

Answer
Hi Mark,

nice: 2 disco's!  It takes a lot of patience to maintain these two 'stallions'.

For the 99 Disco, the ECU is programmed via the Testbook.  There are some minor things that can be done but not what you need.

For the 2000 Disco, a rough idle could be fuel related, injectors, timing, vacuum, MAF sensor, TPS sensor...there are others but these are the usual suspects.

Best of luck,
