Land Rover Repair: 96 disco brake pedal seized, brake fluid reservoir, brake pads and rotors

Question
went to drive to work today, 96 discovery commercial, when i went to push to brake pedal it was stuck, i was not able to depress it at all, i have checked fluid levels and they seem fine, any help or where i should go from here.

Answer
Hi Daragh Carey,

visually inspect all your wheels and determine the current state of your brake pads and rotors.

It sounds like your master cylinder may have seized.  You can try bleeding off some of the brake fluid to see if that helps.  You may have to bleed all four wheels to determine if air is trapped somewhere.  It's even possible to have air in the master c.  Make sure to open the brake fluid reservoir, watch and maintain the proper brake fluid level.

Chances are it's with the master c that is the problem.  I've seen seized calipers but I've never seen a rigid brake pedal because of a seized caliper.

Best of luck,
