if i chang my lifters do i half to replace the head

No, you can remove the lash adjusters and clean them and if that doesn't repair the tick you can get a new lash adjuster. The head will not need replacement. Let me know if you want a short instuction on how to do this task. So you have much experience with this part of the engine?
