Land Rover Repair: Electrical problems, power door locks, blown fuses

Question
I have a 1987 Classic that recently had the alternator and battery go out. I had to jump start it to get home and just about everything electrical went haywire as I drove. I replaced both the alternator and battery, but now several components do not work such as the turn signals/flashers, power door locks, radio sound (radio comes on), and brake lights. How do I check/repair these problems?

Answer
I'd say you have one of these issues:

1) The cabels from the battery are corroded and some are not making contact

2) There are blown fuses or damaged wiring/connections in the fuse box

3) The failure of the alternator or the subsequent repair efforts damaged some of the systems you mention
