Land Rover Repair: Check Engine Light 99 Discovery, obd ii scanner, engine faults

Question
My check engine light continues to periodically come on.  I have read that there is an OBD digital display under my passenger seat, which I have looked for but cannot find.  Is it possible that on the Series I 99 Disco's the display is somewhere else?  I have also read it is under the "back seat" but I have found nothing there as well.  There is a loose plug under my front passenger seat, so I purchased a OBD II scanner thinking I could plug it in to get a code, but the OBD II plug and the plug below my passenger seat are not compatible (I think the plug below my seat is for a CD Player)...

Please help me find the OBD digital display or at least the plug that I can hook into...

Thanks,

M. Bush

Answer
The 99 Discovery does not have a box under the seat.  It has an OBD II diagnostic plug under a flip-open cover under the driver side dash.

You can plug an OBD II scanner into that port and read check engine faults.
