Land Rover Repair: alarm, key fobs, led light

hi john,i,ve just purchased a 1994 v8i es disco.the car did,nt come with any key fobs,its got the red led light below the radio.when i lock the car there is no sign of any alarm system setting itself,don,t even know if its got a alarm,surely being a es model it has.where do i start ive checked fuses are ok.any suggestions would be helpfull atb craig

In the USA they all had alarm in 1994 but elsewhere in the world they may not.  The red light in the radio does not indicate the vehicle has an alarm.

If it has an alarm there should be a red led by itself on the dash top.

You could also call the serial number in to your local dealer and have them run a query in LRs database to get an answer.
