Land Rover Repair: RE: Radiator and Brakes, radiator hose, independent shop

Question
Hi John:

Just wanted to update you on my car. I wrote to you last month about my 98 Discovery overheating and the abs light coming on.  I told you I drove 3 miles in the red. Well I took your advice and brought it in. My overflow tank had a crack in it, my radiator needed a good cleaning, I needed a new lower radiator hose kit, and my front driver side brake sensor was faulty. He also fixed my back window regulator which was broken. It cost me $1700, but at least it's done and with the hot Las Vegas summer approaching, I feel very safe now. I wanted to thank you for your advice and hopefully I won't need anything else done for awhile.

Thanks again,
Jami Pomerleau

Answer
I'm glad to hear everything worked out for you.

If you had a good experience with an independent shop out there in Vegas you might post that under the shop recommendations on RangeRovers.net so others can benefit.

If you're interested I have another installment of a two-part article on engine overheating in the Rover News.  Go to www.roversnorth.com to download an online copy.  The newest edition won't be in print for a few weeks but part one is there now.
