Land Rover Repair: NOISE IN ENGINE COMPARTMENT, noise increases, static noise

I HAVE A 1999 RANGE ROVER 4.6 HSE, MILEAGE 59,000.  A HOWLING/WHINNING SOUND, NOT STATIC NOISE COMING FROM THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT.  NOISE INCREASES WHEN ACCELERATING.  NO REPAIR HISTORY TO DATE.

Sory but it's too few information, the one thing is coming to my mind is the drive belt, be cause the noise will louder  if you accelerate...
This is the most oftenly problem, which generates laoud noises.
You can check it by remove the belt, start the engine, and rev up for a few times. Not so long max 1 minute! Be cause the water pump doesn't work!

Check the bearings, that drives the serpentine belt (alternator, fan, servo pump, a/c etc...)
